The SCOoPE project has been chosen as one of the international projects that will be funded by the Horizon 2020 European program in the area of energy efficiency.

The SCOoPe project will receive 1,796,004 Euros for its execution during the next three years.

Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España (Spanish Co-ops) will coordinate this project, which consortium is constituted by the cooperatives’ associations in France, Italy, Denmark, Portugal, Greece and Spain and the Swedish cooperative Lantmännen. In this consortium will also participate the research centres of CIRCE, the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) and the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and the Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA). Many of those partners worked together in the previous, and recently finished, TESLA project, which will continue with this SCOoPE project.

TESLA project, also coordinated by Spanish Co-ops, was focussed on olive oil mills, wineries, animal feed factories, and fruit and vegetables processing plants. Now, the SCOoPE project will enlarge the dissemination of good practices and energy efficiency to the agro-industries working on dairy products, meat and poultry, crops drying and transformation of fruit and vegetables (juices and concentrates).

Thus, the project will work directly with 81 cooperative companies from 7 countries, with the aim of achieving savings of 85 GWh per year and 42.5 Million Euros of associated investments. A second objective will be to develop businesses pilot clusters for managing jointly their energy.
